  1. Spend your first day Uptown going to the stores you want to go to, since they’re all on 5th and Madison, and Central Park is uptown too.
Spend the next day in Midtown, that’s where you’ll find Grand Central, times square, Macy’s, Madam tussuads and the empire state building.
Spend the last day downtown where you can go to china town, and ground zero and the statue of liberty.
I, personally, would forego china town. It’s just a bunch of asians pushing cheap name brand knockoffs at you. Go to little Italy instead. WAY, WAY cooler.

  2. Here’s my recommendation.
    Day 1
    Madame Tussuad’s Wax
    Times Square
    Grand Central Terminal
    Central Park
    Empire State Building
    Day 2
    Statue of Liberty
    WTC Construction Sites
    Century 21 Department Store
    Brooklyn Bridge
    Chinatown
    Day 3
    Tiffany’s
    Macy’s
    Bloomingdale’s
The subway is the best way to get around the city. Its also the easiest as well. The fare on the subway is $2.25 per ride, pre person. However, if you want to save some money, you can purchase a 1-day unlimited ride MetroCard for each day you’re in town. The 1-day unlimited ride card will cost you $8.25 a person, per day.
I hope this information is very helpful. If you have any questions or need travel directions while in town, just drop me a line by clicking on the avatar and e-mail icon in the profile. I’ll be glad to help.
    Good luck
