Are These Images Real?
my friend doesn’t think that they are, they are of when the empire state building when it was being built, they were taken in 1931, but she still says that it is photoshop.
the most famous ones are slightly down this pagehttp://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl…
Very real. They are fairly famous too.
Of course you could easily do something like that or anything else you can imagine with Photoshop today, however, these pictures were taken decades be digital imaging.

We can only guess what the fatality rate for iron workers was back then. We do know that 5 workers were killed during the construction of the Empire State Building in 4 different incidents. That is completely unacceptable by modern standards.
Today a skyscraper is often built without a single loss of life because of the safety procedures and equipment used.
Not only are they “real”, they were photographed using an 5×7 view camera in many cases.

” Lewis Hine was commissioned to photograph the construction of the building in 1930. Taking many of the risks the construction workers endured, Hine photographed the workers in precarious positions while they secured the iron and steel framework of the structure. In order to obtain the best vantage points, Hine was swung out in a specially designed basket 1,000 feet above Fifth Avenue. ”

Holy Zeus they’re amazing! Ive seen one or two before, quite iconic. I was once told that native american indians where often employed in the construction of tall buildings because of the lack of fear and attitude to death. It wold be interesting to see a few with those guys in them – their facial expressions, countenance etc.
I think it’s real, it can’t be a photoshop, it just seems real to me, back then they didn’t have the technology to fake it so i assume its real
They are real because that is the way construction was done at the time, no need to fake it. It’s not because Photoshop hadn’t been invented. Images were faked in the darkroom long before PS.
These are very famous photos!, they most certainly are real.
.
I saw these images when I was a kid – in the 1950’s – long before Photoshop was invented. They are real.
They are very very real.
They look real and they might be but today with all the technology available I’d never bet on any of it.
yer them pictures are real and very famous, they have been about for years, long before photoshop
They are really famous, and old. Definitely real.
must be it was a long time ago before editing and that was available, ive seen them on postcards and on peoples walls.
They are stock photos. I saw them in a handbook for stock photos.
Yes, they’re real.
they are real. photographers often go to great lengths to get those kinds of photos.
Some are real for sure- the guy hanging on the cord.. I’ve seen it in a library.
well they look real
yer i think they are.
Very unlikely to be real i think , even if a photographer in 1931 wanted to get these pictures he would have done it the easy way in a studio , regardless of that they are to well focused to be that old i think .
for some reason it just looks fake to me
cuz why is there that white glow around them..
and the cameras in 1931 were so large and technical, it woulda been hard to get them up there.
