First of all, who are you to say you are sick on tourists in NYC, when at the same time you’re forking out $20 to see the top of the empire state building? Second, you’re completely wrong about “most” of the tourists not speaking English. We’re probably one of the few industrialized nations left that hardly stresses on learning a second language. France, India, Japan, Germany, all of these countries learn a great deal of English by the time they’re 18. Which languages do you speak? Don’t plan on visiting a country that doesn’t speak English, because you’ll just be packing more grade-A American ignorance across our borders.
And without tourism, NYC would be doing a lot worse since no dollars would be coming into the US, the dollar would depreciate against the Euro. When the dollar is down, and dollars flow into the US, and the dollar appreciates against the Euro. Good God you’re ignorant.

Tourists help pay for everything in the city so you would be paying even more in taxes to pay for the buildings if it wasn’t for them.

you are right
it is like taking a vacation in another country
just by taking the train
while others pay hundreds and thousands of dollars to come to another country
consider yourself lucky and stop complaining
plus tourists are the hottest things especially ones with accents

Things are more expensive everywhere now, not just in NYC. If you can’t afford to do something, then you shouldn’t do it – I assume no one forced you to go to the Empire State Building. Most people know that NYC is one of the most expensive places to live in the U.S.
You say “most do not spoke [sic] english [sic]“. I’m sure many of them “spoke” it better than you write it.
Sounds like your screen name says it all, but not everyone has your disdain for tourists, fortunately. Tourists add a lot to the economy of New York.
I hope things will be looking up for you soon.

Actually, I’m tired of some NY’er complaining about tourists.
Since you mention going to NYC is like taking a vacation in another country, we have to assume that you too are a tourist. If you are “going to NYC” you are not actually FROM NYC, therefore you are a tourist.
If you were a NY’er, you would know when and where to go in the city and where and when to avoid things.
Would you like some cheese with your whine??

I have no problems against the tourists who visit NYC. The Empire State building is one of the main tourist attractions of the city, so of course it may burn your pocket a bit just to visit a landmark. It can be a bit annoying at times because they like to stop in the middle of the sidewalk and block the way for walking (some not all).
Food is high everywhere, not just NYC alone. And it’s high especially where alot of tourists are known to visit (times square, financial district, etc).

Im one of those people who lives in another part of the country but likes to travels to New York lots. Right now I can fly to Philly for about the same price as it costs to fill up my gas tank. I take Septa and NJ Transit to get to a cheap place to stay in Jersey and can take PATH into the city for $1.75 but the food is so high there. A meal at MickeyD’s is a buck or two higher than in Nashville and Atlanta. Sometimes I eat in Jersey before I go to the city and when I get back. I can’t afford to drive to Florida anymore so $75 to fly to Philly aint bad. I get tired of paying $30-40 for a good meal in the city or eating hotdogs but there is no where else like NYC. I know it would be kind of impossible to drag food home on the trains from say a Costco way out from the city I think a lot of people go to NYC from PA, VA, and even TN because where they live is like boring. They have to wait to they get back home to likes pig out.
