Any Sites Out There For Home Improvement?
I am buying my first house, and I would like suggestions on how to make it better. I would like to put my floor plan on the site and then see what ideas they have. Does anyone know of any sited like this?

i did the exact same thing using Google Sketchup. it’s a very user friendly software that’ll let you draw in your floorplan. it’s a 3D program, so you can raise the walls of your floorplan, essentially reconstructing your current house. when you have done this, then you can start remodeling your home on the program to see what you like. you can take out walls, put in archways, change wall colors, put in wood flooring/tile/carpet, build a wet bar….. it’s endless. today i start framing my home addition, and i did everything (blueprints, elevation drawings, material take-off, new floorplan) from Sketchup. you can even set your geographical location, enable the sun option, and see where the sun will hit your house at different parts of the day on different parts of the year. my only suggestion is not to rush into any remodel until you have lived in the house for a while, and see what your dwelling needs really are. your priorities will change real quick. here’s the link:http://sketchup.google.com/download.html
you want the free one (sketchup 6). unless you want to pay $500. good luck.
Did you know that Home Depot has classes that are free to the public??? I now know how to put down ceramic tile because I went to a class. But when you talk about floor plans it makes me think you want to do some major renovations….are you that handy??
