Ok, so I am planning a trip to New York City this winter with my girlfriend. what are some good sight seeing places and maybe some romantice ones? We’ve done some research and plan to see the usual Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Ground Zero, Central Park, attend mass in St. Patricks Cathedrral ( we’re both catholic.), Ice Skate in Rockaffeller plaza or watever, and be in Times Square for New Years Eve. We want to catch the Christmas tree at Rockafeller and I was wondering if there was any difference as to what time we saw that, like if it looses its feel after Christmas or anything because we want to spend Christmas down here with our familie but still want to see everyhing in it’s prime.
Also I was wondering of you guys had any suggestions as what other times to see NYC for future trips up there. in the summer, winter, fall…

Hi there,
My hubby and I have just booked to go to New York this May for four nights. We are staying in a hotel called ThirtyThirty very near the Empire State Building. I’ve never been to New York before and so would love people’s advice on what my hubby and I should prioritise to see whilst we’re there. We have already booked a one day open-top bus tour which I think includes a boat trip to see the Statue of Liberty and we’ve booked a Sex and The City Tour, which I’m really exceited about! I’d personally like to fit some shopping into the experience too but we don’t want to overwhelm ourselves by fitting too much in. What would you recommend we see? And, how much of the city can you realistically see in four days??? Many thanks in advance x

You see it on HGTV and elswhere on TV. “Upgrade your kitchen and recoup 98% of the investment!” “Repaint the exterior and recoup 120% of the investment!” The list goes on. Has anyone actually checked to see if you really do recoup home improvement investment in the form of higher resale value? How can you really be sure, because it’s not like you actually get two appraisals from an appraiser, one for before improvement and the other for after improvement. Or is this a conspiracy by home centers?

A standard 10 min taxi ride?
A nice american breakfast?
Lunch of a sandwich crisps etc (also where to buy lunch? we have marks and spencer here)
A good dinner? (somewhere nice but not overly posh?)
To go up the empire state building?
Visit ground zero?

Also what is American highstreet fashion like? In the uk we have topshop/River island etc? Is there anything similar in the US?
What are the main cosmetic/drug stores in the US, like in the UK we have boots and superdrug?
What would be an average amount of money to take for 5 days in NY…we want to visit a few places, eat out (not to extravagantly) and do some shopping (not really in designer places though) ?

1. I was walking with this guy I like (leonard) and all of a sudden he stopped and grabbed my shoulders and backed me up against a wall and picked me up and started kissing me, then he carried me somewhere while kissing and we walked in some door, but then he dropped me on the ground(not like too heavy drop, like sexy drop) and i sort of blacked out for a while,but i could kinda see that we “did stuff”, but then i saw me lying on top of him with his hand in my pocket and we were kissing and he said he loved me… Also at the end i shot his current gf but then i felt really bad about it cuz she is like one of my best friends
2. Bryce (this guy i used to like) was dangeling me from the top of the empire state building and Leonard came and pulled me up with one hand while fighting Bryce, then he pushed Bryce off the top but Bryce climbed back up and while me and Leonard were kissing and i was shaking and he was comforting me, he kicked Bryce in the face and then Bryce died… Then i woke up (bryce and i were never in a relationship)
